California Foreclosure Timeline: Time is of the essence

1) After 90 days of consecutive non payment:

  • Notice of Default is recorded and mailed
  • Within 10 days from 1st publication: Send beneficiary request for property directions

2) 90 Days after Notice of Default: Sale Date is Set

  • A recorded Notice of Trust Deed Sale must be received no later than 21 days before sale date.

3) Sale date:

 

  • Property is sold to highest bidder at public auction
  • Cash for Keys program may be negotiated with new owner.
